James Stanger, JD, MA, BA (Dist.)

Lethbridge: (403) 329-4311 x105
Email: james@lelaw.ca

James was a summer student with our firm and completed his articles at LETOURNEAU LLP with Adam O. Letourneau, Q.C. as his principal. James previously worked as an anthropologist in South America, and brings the same sense of curiosity to the practice of law. When he’s not studying and learning the law, he spends most of his time volunteering at a legal clinic helping low income Albertans access legal services. On weekends, however, you’re likely to find him snowboarding, camping, or trying to find a pick up hockey game.

James is, well, frankly, brilliant.  He doesn't like to admit it, but he is. He has a unique ability to see through all of the facts, to understand and challenge the law, and to help clients through difficult situations towards a reasonable and desirable outcome.  He is especially skilled in all things family law, but can take on just about any legal issue brought to him.

James holds a Master of Arts degree in Anthropology and Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Lethbridge.  He was awarded a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Calgary and was on the Dean's List in law school.  Before starting law school, James worked on independent anthropological research in Ecuador and was a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Lethbridge.  He has been a teacher of a second language in Ecuador

James has a very focused interest in Family Law and Litigation, but also does Estate Planning and Estate Administration.
